Module Title : Studies in Chinese Verse
Module Description : The purpose of the module is to introduce students to the tradition of Chinese classical poetry in the forms of shi, ci, qu and fu. Representative works of important authors are selected for intensive reading to train students to interpret and appreciate classical Chinese poetic writings. Works in one or two poetic forms will be selected for in-depth study. The course is designed to deepen students' understanding of the four poetic genres in the Chinese literary tradition.

Pre-requisite : Cohort 2011 and before: Completed 80 MCs, including 28 MCs in CH or CL, with a minimum CAP of 3.50 or be on the Honours track. Cohort 2012 onwards: Completed 80 MCs, including 28 MCs in CH or CL, with a minimum CAP of 3.20 or be on the Honours track.
