Module Title : Interactional Discourse
Module Description : This module focuses on how the phenomenon of discourse might be analysed and will consider how a number of frameworks can be used in a complementary fashion to give a fuller description of discourse. These include the frameworks of register and genre; speech-act theory; co-operation; face and politeness; exchange structure and conversation analysis. This module is appropriate for students reading or intending to read English Language honours.
