Module Description : The impact of civil infrastructures on the environment is considerable and engineers have a significant role to play in developing technical solutions which must be cost-effective, economically feasible and environmentally sustainable. Sustainable development must consider all the repercussions from infrastructure development in a systematic and holistic way, including assessment of the resulting pollution problems through environmental monitoring and its necessary companion: safety control and management.
